Hello reader. Hope you are doing good and having a wonderful morning/afternoon/evening/night depending on what time of the day you are reading this.
Today I thought of writing a little bit about Life… What are we doing here? What is it all about? I thought I was not going to write much about this topic but this ended up being a nice long post. So if you doze off then I wouldn’t mind.
I have read a few books and talked to a few people, heard a few wise men talk and it’s beautiful how everyone has a perspective about life. What builds that perspective? Probably the sum of all experiences they had in their lives. ‘Experience’ is an important word like it’s said “Experience is the best teacher”. It helps us understand and relate to a situation when we go through it, more like when we experience it. Until then we only have heard of something or someone’s experience but walking in their shoes and experiencing it creates a new dimension to life and how we start seeing things, it alters our perception about that situation and maybe it also helps us see our past experiences in a different light.
It’s funny how I have started writing all this because before I started this post I was wondering what do I really have to write about life. But now that I am going through an ‘experience’ of writing something, about my perception of life and ideas are flowing and my fingers won’t stop typing. Human mind does not stop surprising me and probably most of us. So many thoughts, so many ideas, so many experiences yet to be created for mankind. Evolution – a constant process that keeps bringing newer and beautiful ideas into this world that helps us create innumerable solutions. Some say that a human evolution has stopped but I still think evolution is a continuous phenomenon and it would be interesting to see where this human race ends up. How we would evolve into something else and what that something else would be like.
With all the ‘relative’ good things that a human mind can do there are some ‘relative’ bad possibilities and ideas a human mind can come up with. Pay attention to the word ‘relative’ here. In the realm of absolute or animal kingdom there is no good or bad. We as humans after being evolved and creating civilization, came up with the concept of good and bad. I believe that the different religions played their part in refining this concept and giving more emphasis to words like ‘sin’ but if you look beyond the evolution and civilization an act or an experience doesn’t really fall in the bucket of good or bad. It’s just an act performed because it had to be performed by someone because that’s how it was supposed to be.
There are different theories created by Science, something on the lines of horoscope, astrology that attribute human actions to when they were born and how the constellation of stars influence their behavior. But that can be a different topic of discussion for a different day.
So back to the initial subject of life after analyzing a few traits of a human mind. An average human who walks on this planet for around 70-80 years goes through a civilized process of life defined by the society. A human is born, he is tagged with a religion, a choice that that human never had when he/she was born and then there are cultural influences depending on where that human being is raised. But at a higher level every human life in an average ‘society’ might get some level of education, they get married, have kids, have a job, earn money, provide for their family, retire, die. Is that it? Was this how it was meant to be? Do most of these humans even make a conscious choice of what they really want in life or is it the rules of the so called ‘civilization’ that influence their actions?
Quite a conundrum. Maybe this is the way or maybe it’s not. Everyone has a choice so we think, or does everyone make a choice based on how their siblings and best friends are living the ‘civilized’ life of pro-creation in the boundaries of the so called ‘society’. This could be quite a hot debate.
My point here is that a civilization/society has started dictating how life should be lived in their so called civilized world. The mass followers in the human race fall a prey to this kind of life and then they want out of it and the civilized rules of the society don’t define an easy way out of such a civilized life.
A human mind is dynamic. Change is the only constant. It looks for newer things constantly to occupy itself. How often do we eat the same food everyday? Our actions and thoughts are different every day. We don’t have the same experiences everyday. What does this tell us about life and humans and their minds. They constantly make decisions to move on with something new. So how long is civilization going to keep a dynamic mind grounded for?
That’s when humans perform acts that are against the rules of the civilized world. So what’s the solution? I don’t know. This is only a perspective, my perspective. Life is meant to be lived without guilt. Life is an experience. So open your heart and mind and experience and enjoy everything that you want because the time that’s gone won’t come back. Who knows how long is the human race going to be around and if you and I are going to be around. So if you have read this then maybe you have started thinking about it. If not then it’s about time.
